  • Talk about likes and dislikes
  • Read a poster advertisement
  • Write a short essay about prejudice

--
Read the essay again carefully:

Jumping to Conclusions

I did something the other day ( Vào ngày hôm trước) that I am not very proud of. I accused (buộc tội) some vẻy nice people ò beiing prejudiced.

Prejudiced is a very strong word. It means having very negative feeling against a person because of his or her race, religion, or background.

I thought my girlfriend's parents didn't want us going together because I was China. I was sure they didn't like me because I looked different than their little girl. This was just a feeling. ( Đây chỉ là một cảm giác) I really had no proof. But, prejudice isn't always obvious (rõ ràng).

I felt bad when my coworkers said that there might be other reasons for her parent's disapproval (không tán thành).

I wanted an opportunity to apologize. I asked my parents and my girlfriend's parents to come to a meeting. I had a chance to apologize. They had a chace to see that Sara and I really care about each other.

--

Find the word or phares in the reading that means the same:

  • Dating only one person =going together
  • opportunity: chance
  • Said someone did something wrong:= accused (buộc tội)
  • not approving of := disapproval
  • evidence = obvious
  • easily seen = looked
---
Now you write a short essay about situation that involved predijuce. In essay answer the following questions.
  1. What happened?
  2. How did you feel?
  3. What did you say or do?
  4. What did the other person say or do?
  5. Now that you have had time to think about the sitution, would you have done anything differently?
I went to grocery. I am feel sad and difficult about thing I can't speaking and listerning everyone talk. I don't understand  them what said and  else. That's a pity.
Now, I am trying to improve my English skills.
---4
Q: Do you think people should only associate with people of their  own race, religion, or nationality? Tell why or why nooot.
A: No, because I think life is open, share,... It's creates a comunity. But I respect each person individual point of view.

Q: Do you think teenages are old enough to make their own decisions? Tell why or why not?
A: No, I think need more time but if they can responsible for their decisions... maybe.

Q: Mrs.Chang tells Henry that Sara's parents won't him to date Sara because he is Chinese. Would it bother you if someone in your family dated ideas. Then tell your ideas to someone.
A: of course not,  I am excited about that then we can have the opportunity to approach new things from differences. But only just make sure to respect each other.
